Couples therapy can work up an appetite! I would argue that Miami is one of the greatest cities for food in Florida, maybe even the entire United States. My wife and I, both passionate foodies, love to go out and tour Miami to find local restaurants with excellent Yelp reviews. It’s our favorite date night! Check out some of the best restaurants in Miami for couples!
Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I encourage couples to see a session with me as a pre-date workout! It’s my job to help clean out all the emotional baggage and get you feeling emotionally reconnected so you can keep that feeling alive by going out on a real date afterward! By making a plan for after the session to talk over dinner, plan an activity, or explore a new slice of South Florida, you will be doubling down on all of the good work done in our session, making your marriage even stronger!
Some Date Night Recommendations
Given my foodie nature, I love to give recommendations to couples about the best places to eat after a session with me. Trust me, if you live near me, you can plan a date at any of these restaurants and walk away satisfied!
Here are a few of the best local restaurants:
Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar
This place is the hidden jewel of Kendall, a slice of Napa Valley. My wife and I love to go here to celebrate our anniversary.
This is the kind of place where you need to make a reservation on the weekend because the steaks are better than in Brickell! This is a full-dining experience. It’s not cheap, but worth every cent. It’s an absolutely fabulous experience and makes for one heck of a great date night for a special occasion. It easily ranks as one of the best restaurants in Miami for couples.
Killer Melts
Let’s go to the other end of the spectrum. Sometimes after a session, you don’t want a full-fledged, fancy date night. Instead, you just want to go out for some delicious comfort food to “hang out” with your spouse in a low-pressure environment. If that’s the case, I would highly recommend Killer Melts.
It’s hard to beat grilled cheese as a relaxed dining option. And trust me, the grilled cheese and other designer sandwiches here are SO good. Need some comfort food after a session? Then head to Killer Melts and enjoy every creation on the menu!
FreshCo Seafood Company
A huge benefit of living in Florida is our access to the ocean. Our seafood is some of the best in the country, and we have the restaurants to back that up! Take FreshCo Seafood Company, for example.
Here, you can dine-in or take some fresh fish home to cook for yourself. On a recent visit, I tried their grilled octopus. It was better than in Greece! Most restaurants only serve a tentacle, but here you get half the octopus. Plus, it’s served on a bed of mixed seafood for only $20!
It can be a bit busy, but here’s the good news: The owner has experienced rapid growth and is looking to expand the dining room in a separate space from the fish market. So if you and your spouse are seafood fans and want a cheap and abundant meal after a session, this is a great option.
Tacos and Tattoos
One of the reasons why the food is so good here in Florida is because of the mix of cultures. Everyone takes the best of their home country with them, ending up in a melting pot of cuisines once they arrive. Tacos and Tattoos is a perfect and tasty example of this.
Here, you’ll find Latin-Mexican fusion on tap with loads of flavors to explore. Nothing here is typical; heck, even the nachos are an adventure! This little hole-in-the-wall has recently moved to an upscale location with triple the space of the original location, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a table when you want an exciting culinary adventure after a session with me!
Mr. & Mrs. Bun
Do you want to know why this is the perfect restaurant to go to after a session with me? It’s because this restaurant is the result of a love affair between a couple and cooking!
The couple that founded this sandwich place share a love of food and each other. It’s the furthest restaurant away from my office, yet it’s well worth the drive. Their blueberry ketchup is one of a kind. After your meal, you’re probably not going to have room for more, but good luck saying “no thanks” once the dessert tray arrives!
Dr. Limon Ceviche
Theme restaurants aren’t usually my thing, but I’ll make an exception for Dr. Limon Ceviche. Everything here has a medical theme, even the servers wear medical jackets. But don’t let the theme fool you because Dr. Limon is a specialist in flavor.
My wife and I love classic ceviche, and Dr. Limon takes the flavor to a whole new level. Everything is prepared with love and attention to detail; the restaurant takes a classic and makes it even better. My advice would be to splurge for the Pisco drinks; it’s worth it.
These are just a few of my favorite restaurants for date nights after a session with me. All of them are exceptional, but they aren’t the only food establishments that I’d recommend in Miami and beyond. Like I said, my wife and I are always on the lookout for new and exciting dining options.
After your session with me (book a free consultation today!), I would love it if you ask for some dining recommendations. Sharing my foodie discoveries is something I love to do, and knowing that the food will bring you and your spouse even closer together, well, that just makes me even happier!
Fantastic post. Love the idea of a date after your consultation. Blueberry ketchup sounds fun to try at Mr. and Mrs. Bun.
