Frequently asked

Common questions.

What coaching is, what it isn't, what it costs, and how the whole thing actually works. If your question isn't here, ask it on the free call.

What is marriage coaching, and what is it not?
Marriage coaching is a structured, forward-facing process focused on how the two of you communicate, connect, and rebuild trust. It is not therapy: I don't diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If clinical care is what you need, I'll help you find the right licensed professional.
How is coaching different from the clinical path?
A licensed marriage and family therapist is trained and licensed to assess and treat mental health conditions. I'm an ICF-certified coach (PCC). Coaching focuses on the present and near future, patterns, agreements, skills, connection, rather than diagnosis or long-term clinical treatment. The two disciplines overlap, but they're not the same, and I'll always tell you which one you actually need.
What does a session cost?
Every first-time client starts with a free 25-minute discovery call on Zoom, and that call is for first timers only. From there, most couples take the three-session package at $700. Booked individually, sessions are $175 for 50 minutes in the Kendall office or on Zoom, $315 for 90 minutes, and $630 for a 180-minute Marathon Intensive in the office. A short paid 25-minute Zoom session for an existing client is $87 and 120-minute Zoom sessions are $420.
How long does the whole process take?
Most couples do the meaningful work inside the three-session package, and some continue with occasional tune-ups after that. I don't sell open-ended coaching, if the work isn't moving the needle, I'll say so.
In-person or by video?
Both. My office is in Kendall, FL, and I see local couples in person. About half of my current practice is by video with couples across the U.S. The work is the same, what matters is that both partners show up with their attention on the room.
What happens on the free 25-minute call?
A real conversation. I'll ask what's going on, listen, and give you an honest read on whether coaching is the right next step for you. No pressure and no pitch. If we're a fit, we'll talk about how to start. If we're not, I'll tell you and, where I can, point you to someone who is.
What's the cancellation policy?
Reschedule any session up to 12 hours before it starts at no cost. Inside 12 hours counts as a delivered session on discounted packages.
Do you work with individuals, or only couples?
Both. Most of my work is with couples, but I also work with individuals whose partner isn't ready, or willing, to come in yet.
Do you take insurance?
No. Coaching isn't a covered service under health insurance, and I don't operate through insurance networks. That's part of why coaching is direct and structured rather than open-ended.
What languages do you coach in?
English only. If Spanish is essential to the work, I'll help you find someone great, so you get the right help, not the closest one.
